Well, my 1963 Ford Thunderbird is finally rolling on its own two wheels.  This is the first time in 10 years the car has at least been pusheable.  I have the steering setup into the car and hopefully will have all the brakes and fuel lines in her by spring.  At that point I can get the engine rebuilt and put into the car.

Here is a shot of her right now.

This is what she will look like when she is done:

These two cars are identical, mine was built about three weeks before this gentleman's was.  Mine has a two tone blue interior, his was black but the color and the trim is identical.  It is a 1963 Ford Thunderbird Sports Roadster, one of 455 made, one of less than 10 known in this color.  It is my dream car and part of the reason I don't fly so much lately.  I am busy with another kind of flying machine.

Oh man, that is going to be one SWEET ride.  What engine does it have? I'm assuming you've still got the numbers matching engine.

Oh my God that is going to be a SICK ride... Keep us updated please!  My next project will be an American car from the 50's or 60's...

Will do.  I almost will be afraid to drive the car after I get it done.  This is one of those cars that are starting to get stupid money in relation to their cousins.  A Sports Roadster is about 25K more valuable than a similar convertibles.  Even though you can put all the options that went on Sports Roadsters (the Tonneau cover, the wire wheels, the grab bar on the dash and the emblems) a real Roadster is really rare to find.  It is that number in the VIN code (85 vs 89) that makes the car valuable.

I got lucky, someone sold me the car for really cheap.  I could never afford a real one anymore.
