I downloaded Glary Utilities but am not sure where to go from there. I want to end some of the extraneous processes that start when I start the computer. I run 62 processes after startup at idle, before starting Aces High or Ventrilo. Ive heard that ~30 is all you need to be running. I think Ghosth uses Glary...any help is appreciated. Running a Dell I bought in 2006 with Windows XP SP3. Geo

Ghosth could help you, but try Game Booster. That is simple and easy to use.

Ok Dicho, now go back in and take a half hour to find out whats enabled in your windows start folder.
Once you gain control of whats starting your well on the way to cutting out excess processes. When in doubt, highlight an item, right click, google it, and educate yourself.
Processes work the same way but the google button is at the top right instead of a right click.

Installed and ran it last night too.. cleaned up a boatload of stuff.
Sad thing is.. right on the front page where you download it.. there was an ad was for Registry Mechanic.. which I have been using faithfully for a couple years.. but in last 6 months, or so, it hasn't been working .. even with the updates. It would identify 120 problems.. 'repair' them.. and they would immediatly show up on the next run.
Went to their website for support and about all they did was supply code that would basically filter the problems from being reported. It didn't actually fix anything. Sad.
It did work.. and it worked very well for quite a while. And for $30/year, it should.
Thanks for the help. now to uninstall Registry Mechanic.. sigh..
