Gents, Last year we participated in about 7 or 8 squad duels. Was a fun time most of the time and a good experience. I don't have the time or desire to manage/arrange any squad duels in SDL. They have their own private forum and active participating squads have about 3 or 4 guys that communicate and arrange a date, time, plane set and any other issues prior to the duel. We even had two ribbons for those that participate in an SDL duel. About two thirds of the way down you will see them. http://www.332nd.org/aces-high/medals-and-awards If you want to take over and manage our involvement in SDL speak up or I will probably have us dropped from the Squad Dueling League. Here are the basic guidelines I posted up a couple years ago when I started it. http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,254157.0.html As far as I know they remain the same. You will have to get at least 6 squadies involved when we duel. The best night would be a Sunday Squad night for us. Usually we had 6-10 squadies show up so we did not have a problem meeting the minimum number of pilots, (6). Right now Bruv and Trotter are the two guys in charge. If you want to do this then find two other guys in our squad that will also be a contact point for SDL and run with it. Right now our contact list for SDL is: 332nd Flying MongrelsC.O. - daddog X.O. - TeeeRex 3rd Contact - Ghosth 4th Contact - mrmidi

FYI...I would be interested in participating in the duels, don't have time to organize though.

DD, I would most certainly like to take part in any and all future squad duels. However, I cannot be the "point-man. " I don't have the experience or knowledge to do so but, I WILL be a participant, fooooor sure! Wolf

Count me out, I actually I think it would be good to let a few of the other squads claw their way up for a bit.

I have the feeling that the SDL will be much different this year. Less squads, higher percentage of hot sticks is my prediction. A rather laid back squad like ours where most of us only fly during FSO, will have a very hard time of it, especially when compared to squads such as The Few, the Muppets, and loose duece, which could throw a 6 man elite group together easily. Not that I don't think we could put a good group together (we have some excellent sticks in this squad), but I'd think we would have a hard time getting 6 at the level they have right now. Not that winning is everything but getting pounded isn't fun either. I'd be tempted to do it, only if I could get 8 members, two alternates, that would want to practice every week with me in the DA, once or twice a week during the week. This way not only would our skills with the different aircraft be honed but so would our teamwork, working with a small group. With a large group, it would just be too difficult. In other words I'd want to make a 332nd dueling squad. I'm not sure If I'd personally would want to engage in the duels (lots of car shows on the weekends yet) but I'd be willing to do setup, training, and research if I could get 8 to commit. It's quite a bit of time comitment, so think about, before you decide. BigRat

I would be more than happy to practice with you in the DA in all planes. I'm not sure I would be the best one to do the scheduling as I don't have good diplomacy skills. But would be willing to give it a try. My reasons for the practice also would help in KOTH. I desperatley want to beat The Few/DFC guys that seem to own that event every month. DRBone, Kazaa, Viperius. All of them are nice guys but I want to put a few bullets in them. And I am just not as skilled at it as they are. I like the Squad Dueling league and I have enjoyed the 2 duels I have participated in. We won one and lost one even the one we lost was fun.

Very interested... The night(s) and times could make it not something I could do right now... But would love to be considered in case I could swing it...

Well we do have some interest. Lets try this for a bit and see how it grows. How about Wed. nights in the TA around 8:30 central time. Try to get together with a wingman if possible. Even if we don't get enough interest in the SDL, I'm sure most of us would like to work on our coordination and communication with our wingman/men. I'd figure we would try some 2v1 drills. You and your wingman vs me. We did a little bit of this last night with me, Drone and Outlaw, p40 vs 2 a6m. I'll actually open this up to anyone in the squad as long as they bring a wingman they want to work with. After everyone gets good at killing me we can work on 2v2 or any other combinations, once we get our core communications down. I'll actually start another thread, in the training area. Those that are interested, post that you are interested and what wingman you want to work with. BigRat

My flying time may come to a screeching halt on Monday. I am set to interview for an Over-the-Road position with a company in Atlanta, Ga. This is a very time consuming job and it may come down to only flying once a month for an FSO. My current job had cut me down to about 25 hrs a week and only pays $9.00 an hour to be a Driver, mechanic, Loader operator, shovel operator. I guess they are just not selling as much gravel as they thought they'd be from there or are running out as it looks to me.
I do have an AT&T wireless card but not sure how the game would run using it.

Big Rat, of all the events and activities the squad is involved with my FAVORITE is the dueling events. Please add my name to the list of potential squad participants. Poor Old Wolf
